Adrian J. Connolly, Licensed Professional Counselor DC/MD/VA

There is help for trauma survivors. My name is Adrian Connolly and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in the Dupont Circle area of Washington, DC. My specialty is working with the aftermath of traumatic life experiences.

I have worked extensively with clients whose traumatic or painful life experiences–either recent or past–continue to reverberate in their current emotional and physical difficulties.

Trauma tends to break your life in two: before the trauma and after. The work of trauma therapy is to restore wholeness.

Many of my clients struggle with “overwhelm” to include but not limited to the following:

  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder(PTSD),
  • Dissociative Disorders (DDNOS & DID),
  • Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD),
  • Mood Disorders,
  • Anxiety
  • Grief and
  • Many other complex emotional issues.
My clients discover that processing their painful traumatic experiences helps them feel stronger, and feel more alive and able to engage in the positive aspects of life.

Trauma survivors can develop strategies to build and strengthen a sense of safety. By tapping your inner resources you can integrate and heal from your traumatic or stressful life experiences.

My toolbox includes several powerful therapeutic techniques that are known to help trauma survivors, such as:

It’s been a privilege to work with many master teachers in the guise of clients. They have enriched and challenged my soul and mind to be ever more aware and ever more present.

Psychological Trauma Has Many Faces

I work with all responses to trauma in its many forms. Through psychotherapy, you come to understand how your traumatic life experience is playing out in your life today. You will discover that processing your painful traumatic experiences helps you feel stronger, and feel more alive. You’ll be able to engage in the positive aspects of life. In my Washington, DC office, I offer a safe therapeutic environment so you can get the help you need.
